Andrew

Today is Andrew’s last day at WCCF. He has had one of the most impressive physical transformations since he started CrossFitting with us almost a year and a half ago. We are all going to miss you and your wit, especially the 6am crew. Good luck on that distant planet called “The Cape.”

How did you get involved in CrossFit? What was your first WOD?
I was looking for a new hobby, since I had just quit drinking alcohol. My wife (who works with Caleigh) suggested crossfit.

When did you start coming to Whaling City CrossFit?
April 2013

Is this the first CrossFit you’ve worked out at / how long have you been CrossFitting for?
Yep, I guess about 16 months now.

When did you realize that CrossFit was right for you?
Once I made it through the first week. I could tell it was going to work, and figured I had made it that far, I may as well keep going

What is your favorite aspect of CrossFit?
The community, it’s great to have friends to share in your victories, and commiserate when you struggle. Also, doing something different every day.

What are your short-term and long-term CrossFit goals?
To stay active in the sport, keep getting stronger and more flexible.

What is your biggest accomplishment?
My first muscle up was probably what I got the most excited about.

How has CrossFit changed your view on health and wellness?
Crossfit has made me to feel that I am in control of my wellness, and empowered me to make better and more conscientious choices.

What is your favorite / least favorite WOD/movement?
Thrusters

What do you a do for a profession outside of CrossFit?
Boat stuff

Do you eat Paleo, Primal or Zone? What is your favorite paleo/non-paleo meal?
